Criminal Checks
Pre-employment criminal clearance verifications identify an applicant’s criminal status before hiring. This process is conducted through AFISwitch, directly linked to the South African criminal database and the Department of Home Affairs.
This is done via taking fingerprints of an person using a biometric fingerprint scanner which are then submitted through the AFISwitch software system. Generally results are received within 24-48 hours (there are options available to receive the results quicker). This system can also be used to verify and identification documents and numbers.
